BeyondTrust Privilege Manager 4.5 is released
and available for download.
With Privilege Manager 4.5, BeyondTrust has extended its
market leading Least Privilege Management product to
enable organizations to discover applications that
require users to have administrative rights.
By
integrating application rights discovery capabilities,
BeyondTrust Privilege Manager 4.5 eliminates traditional
time constraints involved with discovery of applications
that would not function properly if administrator rights
were removed. After determining applications that
require elevated privileges, the solution logs this data
within the client infrastructure. Then, companies can
quickly determine the actions necessary to remove
administrator rights throughout the enterprise while
still allowing end-users to run the required Windows
applications, processes and ActiveX controls they need
to do their jobs.
"Allowing employees to run
with administrator rights makes companies more
susceptible to malicious users and viruses, and prevents
compliance with regulatory mandates, such as FDCC, SOX
